Stromsgodset’s Ernest Boahene reacts to scoring against Sarpsborg

Ghana’s Ernest Boahene scored in Stromsgodset’s 3-1 win against Sarpsborg at the Marienlyst in the Norwegian top flight.

“It is probably one of the finest goals I have scored. At first I thought it was going to go over, but fortunately it went in, and it was good to get that score,” he said after the game.

The game’s first goal came a little under 30 minutes in, when Herman Stengel’s corner kick found Lars Vilsvik at the back. He took the ball down before placing it elegantly in the far corner with his good foot.

Herman also scored five minutes before halftime. Herman came through alone against the goalkeeper after some excellent combinations with Fred Friday, and he slammed in the second.

After just under an hour, the visitors reduced the lead. Eight minutes before the end, substitute Ernest Boahene made it 3-1.

Herman Stengel was involved once more, this time putting good pressure on the visitors’ goalie, who blocked Ernest. The ball was then passed to Herman, who set it up such that Ernest could put it over the goalkeeper and into the goal with an aggressive flick of the ball.
