Strømsgodset Sporting Director Jostein Flo is brimming with confidence about the club’s latest signing, Ghanaian forward James Ampofo, who he describes as a “very promising attacking player.”
Flo believes Ampofo’s physical qualities and natural ability will offer something different to the team’s frontline.
“He is extremely fast, strong and well-trained, and has raw material that we need to give some time to, but at the same time already has a high level,” he said.
The 21-year-old striker joins from OBOS Ligaen side Raufoss after scoring six goals in 12 matches this season. He becomes the fourth summer signing for the Norwegian top-flight club.
“With James Ampofo and his backroom strength entering the squad, we now have different striker types and variables at the top,” Flo added.
Ampofo will wear jersey number 99 and is expected to be integrated gradually into the squad as Strømsgodset look to climb the Eliteserien table.
