Ghanaian forward James Ampofo has completed a move to Norwegian top-flight side Strømsgodset, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal as he steps up from second-tier club Raufoss.
The 21-year-old becomes Strømsgodset’s third new arrival this week and fourth overall in the summer transfer window.
Ampofo arrived in Drammen on Wednesday evening and is set to meet his new teammates and take part in his first training session as a Strømsgodset player. He will wear jersey number 99.
The promising striker made the switch to Raufoss from Greek side AO Episkopi in early 2023, going on to register 14 goals in 39 appearances in the Norwegian First Division.
His form this season has been especially sharp, scoring six goals in just 12 matches before sealing the Eliteserien move.
Strømsgodset view the former Koforidua Semper Fi attacker as a key addition as they bolster their squad with young talent.
Ampofo now looks forward to continuing his development at the highest level in Norway.
