Former Hearts of Oak striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has been named the 2022 SWAG Home-Based Player of Year Award.
Barnieh bagged the ultimate ahead of striker Yaw Annor and Asante Kotoko’s goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.
His exploits on the local scene saw him play a vital role for Hearts of Oak in their 2022 FA Cup truimp and also emerged the top scorer for the Black Galaxies to qualify for the ongoing CHAN tournament in Algeria.
He chalked a total of 13 goals in 62 games for Hearts Oak, earning him a spot in Ghana’s final squad for the 2022 Mundial in Qatar though he failed to gain playing time.
