Strasbourg coach Julien Stephan provides update on Djiku injury

Strasbourg head coach Julien Stephan has given an update on Alexander Djiku’s injury ahead of subsequent matches.

The gaffer believes it is not “a serious one” and the centre-back should return shortly.

Djiku suffered an injury in Strasbourg 2-2 draw against Toulouse in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Speaking after the game Coach Julien Stephan said, “Alex has a little muscle problem. It pulled on the hamstring a bit, I hope it’s not too serious.”

The medical team is expected to assess the situation of the injury today to ascertain how long the defender will be on the sidelines.

Djiku will be hoping to return swiftly as Black Stars coach Otto Addo is expected to name his provisional squad for the 2022 World Cup in November.
