Winger Francis Amuzu was the star of the show when Anderlecht beat Royal Antwerp FC 4-0 in the Belgian league last Sunday.
Amuzu was unsure about his starting spot at Anderlecht in recent months, but he appears to have featured in the first eleven in recent weeks. He appreciates Vincent Kompany’s confidence and has rewarded him with some outstanding performances.
In 90 minutes, Steven Defour compares Francis Amuzu to Raheem Sterling, who prospered under Pep Guardiola after leaving Liverpool FC.
“What Guardiola did to Sterling, Kompany can do to Amuzu,” he said.
“He can be more goal-oriented and work on his finish. Sterling couldn’t finish when he came to City either,” Defour noted. That now seems to be happening with Amuzu, who is now starting to break through at the Purple & White. Kompany has given Amuzu many opportunities, we must not forget that,” adds Filip Joos.
According to reports winger Francis Amuzu is likely to leave Anderlecht this summer for more playing time.
