Vice Chairman of the Black Stars management committee, Stephen Appiah, has expressed strong belief in Ghana’s chances ahead of their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Chad and Mali.
The four-time African champions are scheduled to take on Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before returning to Accra for a crucial home tie with Mali on September 8.
Sharing his thoughts, the former Ghana captain said he was impressed with the team’s commitment in training and expects them to rise to the occasion.
“I have watched the team train at the Accra Sports Stadium and I think the guys are ready to deliver in these two games,” he told the media.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I with 15 points from six matches, with Comoros (12), Madagascar (10), Mali (9), and Central African Republic (5) trailing behind.
Chad remain bottom of the group without a point.
