StarTimes owes GFA $950,000 – Kurt Okraku reveals

GFA President Kurt Okraku has revealed that former broadcast partner StarTimes owes the Ghana Football Association a whopping $950,000.

This comes after the GFA officially ended its partnership with the Chinese pay-TV company.

“We’ve ended our partnership with StarTimes. They owe the GFA $950,000,” Okraku disclosed in an interview with GHOne TV.

The unpaid amount adds another layer to the GFA’s recent commercial challenges, coming on the heels of betPawa’s sudden withdrawal as the league’s headline sponsor.

Despite the setbacks, Okraku assured that the Association is close to announcing a new sponsor for the Ghana Premier League.

It is understood Supersport are in line to be announce as the new GPL broadcast right holders.
