The eight-member search party will sit down for face-to-face interviews with the five short listed candidates in Accra in two weeks before deciding which of them is best suited for the job even though the GFA continue to rule out the possibility of naming a coaching from outside that group.
GFA Vice-President Fred Pappoe says settling on the five candidates for the final process was difficult but is no doubt they have had a good go at it.
“It wasn’t quite an easy job. We agreed on very clear criteria like professional qualification of the applicants, coaching experience, exemplary achievements and personality traits,” Pappoe told kickoffGhana.com.
“There are other things we can know when talking to the candidates. We interspersed it with a lot of due diligence but that is still ongoing.”
Ghana is looking for a successor to Milovan Rajevac and has shortlisted five candidates from more than 106 applicants for that purpose.
Former Tunisia, Morocco and Portugal coach Humberto Cuelho, Serbian Goran Stevanovic, Ghanaian Herbert Addo, Turk Can Vanli and former France international Marcel Desailly are the names in the frame.
