The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) has settled all the outstanding bonuses of the senior national female team, the Black Queens on Thursday.
The decision comes after public outcry over the government’s failure to pay their bonuses for qualifying for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament, where the team is owed approximately $180,000 for six games.
Sources at the Queens camp says the money was given to them in cheque.
The Black Queens will face Zambia in the first leg of the 2024 Olympic Games third-round qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The second leg will take place in Zambia on February 28.
