The Ministry for Sports and Recreation has settled all outstanding allowances owed to the Black Queens at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, Her Excellency Charity Gbedawo, confirmed the payments in an exclusive interview with JoySports’, with the amount yet to be disclosed.
“They had a few challenges along the line… their finances were delayed a bit. But to the glory of God, the Minister for Sports and Recreation (Kofi Iddie Adams) facilitated the quick release of the money and they have been sorted out,” she said.
Gbedawo believes this gesture will boost morale in the camp ahead of Monday’s crucial Group C tie against Tanzania.
The Black Queens are currently bottom of the group with just one point from two matches having lost 2-0 to South Africa and drawn 1-1 with Mali.
To advance, Ghana must beat Tanzania convincingly and hope other results swing in their favour.
