Sports Minister Kofi Adams has called on federations to take a cue from the Ghana Football Association in making themselves visible.
He made the comments during a stakeholder meeting earlier this week, where he addressed concerns over unequal government support across the sports sector.
Adams noted that football’s popularity and backing did not happen by chance but through deliberate effort, planning, and execution.
“The story of the GFA should guide all of us on what we must do with our federations,” Adams said.
“We need to leave here knowing very well that football didn’t just gain the attention it’s getting by chance, something happened to give it that attention.”
About 46 federations are registered with the National Sports Authority, yet many struggle to make their mark.
Debate continues over whether some of the bodies merit their status, as questions around their performance and relevance.
