Slavko Matic: Hearts of Oak head coach praises players for showing great character to beat Kotoku Royals

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Slavko Matic has indicated that he was happy with his team’s narrow win over Kotoku Royals over the past weekend.

The Phobians last Saturday locked horns with their matchday five opponent of the Ghana Premier League season.

Courtesy of a solitary strike from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, the Phobians secured a 1-0 win against the opponent.

Speaking after the game, head coach Slavko Matic admitted that it was a very tough game.

He however commended his player for showing character and fighting to finish the game with a victory.

“Collectively it was a good team performance, show of character and discipline. The first-half performance was better than the second.  We must improve upon that.

“I must admit it was a very difficult match but the players showed good character and determination and fought till the end to give us the maximum points,” the Serbian tactician shared.

In the upcoming weekend, Hearts of Oak will take on Karela United in what will be a tough encounter.
