Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo could land in trouble following his incendiary comments after his side’s defeat to Aduana Stars in the MTN FA Cup on Sunday.
The Burkinabe trainer was furious with referee Amadu Ibrahim for awarding a controversial penalty in the 57th minute after Mohammed Alhassan brought down his marker in the box.
The referee pointed to the spot and Sam Adams stepped up to score what turned out to be the winner.
Zerbo also accused Aduana of match-fixing in the ongoing 2022/23 betPawa Premier League campaign.
The Ghana football Association has opened an investigation regarding his fiery post-match remarks, kickoffghana has been reliably informed.
Zerbo is expected to be summoned before the Ethics Committee to substantiate his allegations.
“There is nothing that we can do because for this our defeat it is the referee who gave the victory to Aduana Stars this afternoon because there was no penalty. Therefore, I will not talk anymore. I respond to this question that the officiating was not favorable” Zerbo told reporters after the match.
“It is not an excuse but today we have seen why Aduana Stars are ahead ( in the league) . It is because all their home matches are fixed.”
The Ogya boys booked their ticket to the quarter finals following a 1-0 victory of Kotoko in Dormaa on Sunday.
