Former deputy Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has urged the ministry to settle out all monetary issues with the Black Stars before the team departs for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Reports have emerged that Black Stars players are yet to be paid their winning bonuses after qualifying Ghana for the world biggest competition.
The players are reportedly entitled to a 10,000 winning bonuses per game in the qualifying stage.
According to Ankrah,the authorities should do the needful and sort out players before the tourney commences in November.
“The Brazil debacle I have said it many times but I have moved on. For me, the most important thing is that I put my all into the tournament. Unfortunately for me, when we were going, the finance ministry said there is no money so I had to raise funds and due to that I stepped on toes.”
“All I can say is that everything must be settled with the players now before they move to Qatar. During my time, there were outstanding bonuses which ought to have been paid, that were not paid and we went.”
The Black Stars, who face Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H, are in France camping for the friendlies against Brazil on September 23 before Nicaragua three days later.
