Serbia trainer Slavko Matic knows what Hearts of Oak expect from him – Togbe Afede XIV

Executive Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV says Slavko Matic is well aware of the task ahead of him after he was appointed new head coach of the club.

The 46-year-old replaces Samuel Boadu who parted ways with the Phobians ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers against AS Real Bamako on a two-year deal.

Matic will work with David Ocloo as his assistant coach. He will also work with Richard Oppong (Goalkeeper’s trainer), Samuel Nii Noi (Youth Team Coach), and Enock Jordan Daitey (Fitness coach).

“He knows what we expect from him as a club and he is ready to meet the demands,” Togbe Afede XIV said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“Every coach we appoint knows that failure to win the league, as well as our ambitions in Africa are things we take seriously as a club.”

Matic holds a UEFA Pro Licence and has vast experience having managed clubs in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
