Antoine Semenyo is embracing the pressure of following in the footsteps of teammate Erling Haaland, who netted 38 goals last season.
“I have expectations for myself, so I knew there was going to be pressure of scoring the same goals as Erling, but I feel I’ve given myself those goals at the start of the season to compete with players of his stature,” Semenyo said.
The Ghanaian forward credits his City debut season to adapting his game and working on his weaknesses following his move from Bournemouth.
Semenyo has scored 4 goals in 6 appearances, with his latest strike coming against Spurs.
“Being on the same team as Erling Haaland is a blessing. Goalscoring is something in my blood and DNA and I just want to keep going,” he added.
Semenyo’s confidence and hunger for goals are clear, and he’ll look to continue his impressive form for City this season.
