Ghana winger Albert Adomah says scoring in Aston Villa’s 3-1 win over Cardiff City was an unexpected bonus for him.
The 28-year-old put up sizzling display to score and provide assist as the Villains recorded the important win.
On getting the goal, Adomah said: “For me, when I score it’s a bonus because I’m winger and I’m here to provide” he told reporters
“To be fair my first touch wasn’t the greatest but I made it look good by scoring.
“I nearly scuffed it, but I took my time and tapped it in back post.
“I got the assist for Jonathan which I was more excited about. I know I did the celebration when I scored, but I was more excited with my assist.”
“We won the game which was the main objective. We are moving up the table slowly.
“The win always brings confidence to the team and we just have to move on to the next game now.
“Second half was a bit of a battle because they made it difficult because they knew what we were about from the first half.
“They tried to take the game to us, but unfortunately for them we managed to break through and win the penalty at the end.
“That’s the Championship for you. You can’t always attack teams.”
