On Thursday night, Freiburg and Nantes clash at the Europa Park Stadion in Group G of the Europa League, with the home team looking to make it three wins out of three in the competition.

Christian Streich’s team is enjoying another fruitful campaign at home and abroad. The team from the Black Forest are in second place in the Bundesliga while also topping Group G in the Europa League.

Freiburg kicked off their European campaign with a 2-1 home win over Qarabag before a 3-0 win at Olympiakos in their last outing in the competition.

The win over the Greek side means that the home team has won four of their previous six games in the Europa League.

Streich’s team has won their last two home games in the Europa League but has won just three of their previous eight games on home soil in the competition.

Their recent home games in this competition have been relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four matches on home soil in the Europa League.

The visitors head into this clash on the back of a poor run of form that has seen them go four games without a win while suffering three defeats in the process.

Last time out, Nantes suffered a 4-1 loss at Monaco. The game saw the visitors concede at least two goals for the third time in four competitive matches.

The Europa League is a slightly new experience for Nantes, as, before this season, they last featured in the competition in 2001 when it was still the UEFA Cup.

Nantes have experienced mixed fortunes in the Europa League this season. The French outfit opened their campaign with a 2-1 home win over Olympiakos before suffering a 3-0 defeat at Qarabag.

What does Forebet predict?
