The league leaders will kick off the Serie A weekend this Friday night as Napoli look to make it seven wins in a row in the league with the in-form Sassuolo up next for the destined champions at the Mapei Stadium.

Sassuolo looked like they could get sucked right into the relegation battle when action returned soon after the World Cup, as they were beaten by fellow strugglers Sampdoria at home just before losing 2-1 to Fiorentina and losing at the Mapei Stadium to Lazio 2-0.

It meant they let in six goals in their first three games back after the Qatar finals and scored just two.

However, they have now moved up into 15th and back into a healthy spot in Serie A. The club are now back to being seven clear of the relegation zone and they remain unbeaten in their past four games.

This incredible run started with a 1-1 draw against Monza before one of their best-ever Serie A wins against AC Milan at the San Siro.

Milan were smashed 5-2 by Sassuolo three weeks ago at home, as the champions went 4-1 down at one stage in the first half. It remains arguably the upset of the season in Italy, as they then matched this with a sensational 1-0 win in Bergamo against Atalanta.

Sassuolo drew with Udinese last time out at the Dacia Arena, as Matheus Henrique scored for the Black and Green after falling a goal down inside one minute.

As for Napoli, it’s just a matter of time until they are the champions of Italy. The club are ahead of Inter Milan by a stunning 15 points at the top of the table, which means they now have to lose around six games in order to give the likes of Inter a chance to win the title.

In fact, it’s been this way for months and there is very little to suggest they won’t extend this lead to around 20+ points. Napoli are also back in Champions League action against the Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt next week, and in truth, they are the best side in Europe this season by quite some distance.

Luciano Spalletti’s men smashed Cremonese 3-0 last time out in Serie A and also defeated Spezia 3-0 on the road just prior to that win. It means an unbeaten league run since losing to Inter at the start of 2023.

Forebet predicts Napoli to win and over 2.5 goals in the game.
