Ghana’s midfielder Sarah Nyarko has been crowned the overall best player at the WAFU B U20 Girls Cup in Benin.
The Dreamz Ladies star scored twice and assisted another goal in Ghana’s four matches at the tournament.
Nyarko follows in the footsteps of Stella Nyamekye, who earned the same honor in the inaugural edition in Kumasi.
Despite her standout performance, Ghana finished as runners-up, falling to Nigeria in the final and unable to defend their title.
The team struggled in their defeats, conceding six goals while scoring just one.
Against host nation Benin, they managed to score four goals across two matches.
Head Coach Charles Sampson will use the tournament experience to prepare his squad for the upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
