Ghanaian attacker Samuel Obeng Gyabaa has secured a transfer to Spanish Segunda División outfit Albacete Balompié during the ongoing winter window.
The 28-year-old has committed to a one-and-a-half-year contract as he looks to make an immediate impact at his new club. Obeng arrives in Albacete following a brief stint with AD Ceuta, where he featured eight times and found the net once in three months.
The forward is expected to add experience and depth to Albacete’s attack as the club fights to retain its place in Spain’s second tier.
Well-versed in the demands of Spanish football, Obeng has spent most of his career across the country’s lower divisions.
He previously turned out for clubs such as Real Oviedo, Girona and Huesca, building a reputation as a reliable attacking option.
During his time in La Liga 2, Obeng has amassed 172 appearances, scoring 21 goals across spells with Oviedo, Girona and Huesca.
He is fondly remembered at Oviedo for his work rate and important goals.
The Ghanaian forward could make his debut almost immediately, with Albacete set to face Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening.
