Samuel Boadu unhappy with Hearts’ sixth place finish despite FA Cup win

Hearts of Oak trainer Samuel Boadu has labelled the 2021/22 Ghana football campaign as a “failure” despite winning the MTN FA Cup title.

The gaffer struggled to maintain the form of the Phobians on the back of their trophy-laden season last year – Premier League, FA Cup and Super Cup winners.

Samuel Boadu’s side finished in sixth with 48 points in the just ended topflight league.

“Hearts of Oak is a big club and we can’t end the season without a trophy, but as a coach not being in the top four I feel I have failed,” Coach Samuel Boadu said.

Courtesy of the MTN FA Cup triumph this season, Hearts of Oak will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup next season.
