Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu keeps sight on Ghana Premier League top spot, downplays Nations FC threat

Samartex coach Nuruddeen Amadu has asserted that his team is concentrated on retaining their leading position in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, following their narrow 1-0 victory over Medeama on Sunday.

The triumph propelled Samartex back to the summit, leaving their rivals two points adrift in second place.

Amadu acknowledged the pressure to stay at the top but emphasized the importance of maintaining focus on their own performance. “we are under pressure we all are under pressure to get back to the top. Even though I psych the players to play we bear the pressure,” he admitted.

The lone goal of the match was scored by Francis Gyetua in the 38th minute, securing a crucial win for Samartex. Amadu, however, downplayed the threat posed by Nations FC, who are vying for the top spot.

“They should play they shouldn’t think about Nations FC coming to the top,” he stated.

Samartex will take on Legon Cities away in their next league game.
