On Saturday evening, Salernitana and Bologna go head-to-head at the Stadio Arechi as the visitors attempt to continue their surprise challenge for a European spot in Serie A.

The home team heads into this clash after a three-game unbeaten run in the Italian top flight. A 1-1 draw at Milan followed a goalless draw against Sampdoria and a 3-0 win over Monza.

The home victory over Monza is Salernitana’s only victory in their last six games in Serie A, though.

Although their recent league form has not been great, Salernitana still looks to be in a relatively comfortable position in the Serie A table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

The home sides’ recent league outings have been low-scoring affairs, as there have been under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league matches.

The home team has a poor recent record on home soil in the Italian top-flight, as the Monza win ended a six-game winless run in Serie A at home for Salernitana.

The visitors look to be outsiders for a European spot this season, as Thiago Motta’s team currently sits in ninth place in the table, just six points adrift of the league’s European spots.

A recent inconsistent run of just two wins in their last five league games has hampered the visitor’s surprise top-six challenge. They have taken just a point from their previous two games following a goalless draw against Lazio last time out.

Bologna has an inconsistent recent away record in the Italian top-flight, having recorded three victories and suffered three defeats in their last six home league games.

However, a 1-0 defeat at Torino ended a three-game winning streak on their travels for the visitors in Serie A.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that this clash will produce a low-scoring draw, which would further dent Bologna’s chances of mounting a realistic top-six challenge this season.
