Former Ghana Football Association Spokesperson, Ibrahim Sannie Daara has vehemently rejected Mikel Obi’s claims about Israeli trainer Avram Grant.
“He wasn’t a coach; he didn’t even have any idea what he was doing. All he was doing was telling stories about Michael Jordan, but somehow things worked out for him and he got us to the Champs Lge final.” the forme Nigerian international said in a recently released podcast.
Daara dismissed Mikel’s claims, asserting that Grant, armed with a top UEFA license, wasn’t merely fortunate but a skilled tactician.
Highlighting Grant’s coaching successes, including leading Chelsea to the Champions League final and guiding Ghana to the 2015 AFCON final, the senior CAF media officer urged Mikel to show respect and suggested he focus on finding meaningful employment.
“Mikel should stop disrespecting worthy people and find a job to do. A man with top UEFA license, excelled in coaching – led Chelsea to the final of the Champs League, Ghana to the Afcon final and reviving Zambia can’t be operating just on luck. He must be doing something right” he wrote on X.
Daara was part of the administration that appointed Grant as Black Stars coach in 2014.
