Despite RTU’s ascent to the top of the Ghana Premier League table, following a 3-1 win over Accra Lions on Friday, Baba Kushibo emphasizes the team’s commitment to staying grounded and maintaining a humble approach.
Kushibo scored the opening goal in the 5th minute before Mohammed Mankuyeli added the second goal 9 minutes later.
The Tamale lads went into the break with a two goal cushioning but Abdul Rahman Ali reduced the deficit inside 56 minutes to give Accra Lions a glimmer of hope.
Real Tamale United put the game beyond the hosts in the 67th minute through Abdul Aziz.
Speaking after the match, the midfielder underscored the importance of staying composed and taking each game as it comes, highlighting that it’s still early in the season.
Kushibo acknowledged the thrill of being at the top but makes it clear that the primary focus is to remain in a strong position throughout the season.
“It’s enticing to see that we are at the top. It’s early days, so the focus is to stay up, and at the end of the day, whatever happens is a bonus.”
