RTU players refuse to show up on training ground for pre-season

Real Tamale United players have refused to show up at training on Tuesday over unpaid salaries, signing on fees and bonuses

Management members, technical team led by new Coach Baba Nuhu Mallam and some supporters were present at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium to meet the playing body after the Board issued a statement on Monday assuring fans of the team’s pre-season program but players did not turn up for the exercise.

Coaching staff and supporters waited for a long period of time before leaving to their homes in disappointment.

Kickoffghana.com understands that RTU players were owed three months salaries and other incentives.

The club escaped relegation on the final day of the 2021-22 season, when they defeated Hearts of Oak 4-1 in Accra.
