Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori says his priority remains performing well for AmaZulu FC as he works toward reclaiming his spot in the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In an interview with iDiski Times, the 31-year-old acknowledged that his path back to the national team depends on consistency, not reputation.
“I’m working hard and focusing on my team at the moment. That’s what you need to do if you want to be there [at the World Cup],” he said.
Ofori also noted that although he hasn’t spoken to head coach Otto Addo recently, there is mutual respect between them. “He’s a good man. He hasn’t abandoned anyone; he just focuses on those who are actively playing,” the goalkeeper added.
With AmaZulu fighting for a strong league finish, Ofori believes his performances in the South African Premier League could reignite his Black Stars ambitions.
