REVEALED: Ex-Sunderland manager Steve Bruce had chance to sign Suarez n 2010 but chose Asamoah Gyan

Uruguayan great, Luis Suarez has been named among the transfer regrets of English club FC Sunderland.

According to new information that has come to light, the English Championship club had the chance to sign the former FC Barcelona striker in 2010 from Dutch giants Ajax.

However, English manager Steve Bruce who was then the manager of Sunderland decided to look elsewhere.

In the summer when the gaffer was looking for a new striker to partner Darren Bent, the manager decided to sign Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan instead.

The Black Stars forward excelled in his short stint at Sunderland and become a cult hero after scoring some very important goals for the team.

The miss on Luis Suarez according to checks, remains in the hearts of fans who knew about the possibility of signing the Uruguayan.

Many fans believe the decision to overlook the great striker was an error.
