Ghanaian forward Gibson Nana Adu is set to rejoin Regionalliga Bayern side SpVgg Unterhaching on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich, starting January 1, 2026.
The 17-year-old had initially planned to join Austrian Bundesliga side SCR Altach on loan, but the deal was blocked due to UEFA regulations regarding his age.
A statement on Unterhaching’s official website welcomed Adu back to the club, saying, “SpVgg Unterhaching are bolstering their attack with a familiar face. Striker Gibson Adu returns to the uhlsport PARK during the winter transfer window.”
Adu moved from Unterhaching’s academy to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024, signing a contract until June 30, 2027.
“He gained valuable experience at FC Bayern this season, but is now expected to receive consistent playing time at a high level in Unterhaching,” the club added.
The young striker rose through the youth ranks of FSV Mainz 05 before joining Unterhaching’s U17 and U19 teams in 2022.
Born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, the teenager has attracted attention as a promising talent who could represent Ghana internationally in the future.
