Ghana striker, Raphael Dwamena has passed away while in action in the Albanian Superliga.
This comes six years after he was diagnosed with a heart condition and advised to stop playing football.
In 2021, Dr Prince Pamboe urged Raphael Dwamena to consider retiring from active football due to heart-related problems.
The 26-year-old was rushed to the hospital during a game in the Austrian Cup third-round clash between Blau-Weiß Linz and Harterg.
Following his collapse, the game was subsequently called off.
Dr Prince Pamboe reacting to the incident argued that it was important for his handlers to advise him to quit football and seek medical help.
“It is time his manager sits with Raphael Dwamena and have a discussion with him. Whatever device was implanted in his heart either could have gotten worse or creating another problem thus there is the need to do a re-evaluation”, he told TV3 on Warm Up+.
