We have entered the final stages of the 2021/22 La Liga season and on Thursday the 12th of May we have a meeting between Real Madrid and Levante.

The game will be played at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu and the hosts begin the week top of the table having secured the title while Levante are in 19th place and fighting for survival.

Real Madrid come into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss at Atletico Madrid in the derby. In most circumstances it would be a hugely disappointing defeat.

But with the title in the bag and a Champions League final to come, Real Madrid have their minds elsewhere. The only goal of the game was scored from the penalty spot in the 40th minute.

That result means Real Madrid have won 4 of their last 6 matches in all competitions, with the victories coming at home over Espanyol in La Liga and Manchester City in the Champions League. There have also been wins at Osasuna and Sevilla in La Liga.

Trends show in their last 76 games in all competitions, Real Madrid have recorded 66 undefeated encounters. Their home form in La Liga shows Real Madrid have won 5 of their last 6 and they have lost only 1 of their 27 most recent league matches at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in the 3 most recent home games in all competitions of Real Madrid.

Levante make the trip to Madrid having recorded a vital 2-1 home win over Real Sociedad on the weekend. With the score level going into injury time at the end of the game, Levante converted a penalty to take maximum points.

With 3 matches still to play, including this one, that result gives Levante hope and they are undefeated in 3 of their last 4 matches. There have been wins over Granada away and Real Sociedad at home plus a 1-1 draw in the derby against Valencia.

However, Levante have been struggling to win games on the road and they have recorded just 2 victories from their last 21 away league fixtures, which is a poor record.

They have trouble when it comes to conceding goals away from home and Levante have kept just a single clean sheet in their 21 most recent away league matches.

Team news and Real Madrid are without the injured trio of Marcelo, Daniel Ceballos, and Miguel Gutiérrez. There are also doubts over the fitness of Isco, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, and Nacho Fernandez.

Levante have doubts over four players, with Roberto Soldado, Shkodran Mustafi, Jorge de Frutos, and Carlos Clerc in a race to be fit for the game.

Real Madrid have nothing to play for while Levante are desperate for the points. However, a relaxed Real Madrid could be dangerous and if they play with freedom and fun, it could be a long night for Levante. Real Madrid could come away with a comfortable win, scoring 2 or more goals and keeping a clean sheet.
