As European football gets treated to an array of derbies across the continent, Real Betis and Sevilla will clash in the Seville derby on Sunday night with the two in completely contrasting areas of the La Liga table as the home side continue to rise up the ranks.
While Sevilla have been in dire straits this season, Real Betis have only managed to improve on their spectacular form shown last season that saw them win the Copa del Rey.

As of now, the club are heading into this one in fourth in the table and having defeated HJK with ease in the Europa League.
Betis have now topped their group in Europe and stamped down their marker as a serious contender to win the competition, having won five of the six scheduled games and drawing the other game, finishing above Roma in the process.
In fact, no other side in the Europa League finished with such a convincing display, as they managed to edge past a giant of Serie, go unbeaten, unlike sides like Arsenal, Monaco, Manchester United, Lazio and even league rivals, Real Sociedad.
Aitor Ruibal scored twice that day against HJK, as Nabil Fekier netted another goal in what is turning out to be a sensational season for him.
Betis are on a three-game winning run now after their loss to Atletico Madrid sent shockwaves through the club on a potential top three finish.
Nevertheless, they beat Ludogorets in Europe, before a convincing 2-0 win over Sociedad away from home and the recent win over HJK.
Betis, despite being the much-improved side of the two, have not been able to register a win in this game since 2018 when they did the double on their rivals, beating them 1-0 at the Estadio Benito Villamarín and then 5-3 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Last season, Sevilla won both home and away.
As for Sevilla, Jorge Sampaoli is failing to help the side improve right now and they still sit 18th in the league and could well be in for a long relegation battle.
His men did take the lead at the Etihad Stadium in midweek against Manchester City, but in losing 3-1, they crashed into third and are now back in the Europa League once more – this shouldn’t faze fans too much, given their stunning record in this competition.
Forebet predicts a win here for Betis and over 2.5 goals.
