Ghana defender Andy Yiadom picked up an injury in Reading’s 3-1 win over Huddersfield in the English Championship on Saturday.
The 30 year old was replaced by Tyrese Fornah in the 65th minute. Further test are expected to be carried out on Monday to determine the full extent of the blow.
Goals from Tom McIntyre, Yakou Meite and an own goal ensured Royals maintained their strong season so far with a sixth win in eight matches.
The result sees Ince’s side remain in third place in the league standings and they are now just three points off league leaders Sheffield United.
Reading manager Paul Ince provided an update on his captain’s injury after the game.
“Yids (Andy Yiadom) is with the doctor now. We can’t afford to lose him, that’ll be another massive blow to us. We’ll find out the diagnosis tomorrow but it’s not looking good,” he said.
