Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora is on the verge of a shock return to the Porcupine Warriors after three years away.
The 27-year-old, who currently plies his trade with Albanian side AF Elbasani, is expected to cut short his three-year deal after just one season.
Abalora was one of the standout performers in the Albanian top flight this season, keeping nine clean sheets in 27 matches and helping his side to a fifth-place finish.
Talks between Kotoko and the former Sheriff Tiraspol shot-stopper have already begun, as uncertainty grows over the future of current No.1, Frederick Asare.
Although Asare has agreed in principle to a contract extension, his limited minutes in the just-ended campaign could force a change.
Abalora left Kotoko in 2022 to join Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol, becoming the fourth Ghanaian to sign for the club within two years.
His possible return would be seen as a major boost for Kotoko ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
