Ghanaian-German winger Raphael Assibey-Mensah has joined FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt on a two-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 Regionalliga Nordost season.
The 25-year-old makes the move from 1. FC Bocholt, where he impressed with 10 goals and 10 assists in 28 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.
Born in Leipzig and developed in the youth system of Mainz 05, Assibey-Mensah has accumulated 189 career appearances, with stints at clubs like Brentford B, TSV Schott Mainz, SC Freiburg II, and FSV Zwickau. His experience in Germany’s 3. Liga and lower tiers adds depth and attacking flair to Erfurt’s squad.
Sporting director Franz Gerber hailed the new signing as a “technical and goal-dangerous player” who fits perfectly into the club’s ambitions.
The move is seen as a key piece in Erfurt’s bid for promotion as they look to climb the Regionalliga ranks.
