Ralf Rangnick confirms Manchester United rebuild after Liverpool hammering

Ralf Rangnick confirms Manchester United rebuild plans after Liverpool hammering

Ralf Rangnick has dropped a major Manchester United transfer hint on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils took on Manchester United at Anfield in a Premier League tie and were well and truly outclassed.

Liverpool were better than United in every area of the pitch and eventually came away with a very deserved 4-0 win.

The result put Liverpool top of the Premier League for the time being and leaves Manchester United 6th, three points adrift of both 4th and 5th having played two more games,

After such a poor result, Ralf Rangnick has all but confirmed that there will be a rebuild at Manchester United which will see between six to ten new players arrive at the club:

“There will be a rebuild here. Six, seven, maybe TEN new players will come,” he said post-Liverpool.

Who will stay at Manchester United?

Instead of asking who Manchester United should sign, a better question to ask is probably who deserves to stay?

Big-money addition Jadon Sancho is likely to remain put until he gets a chance to shine under a new manager. Bruno Fernandes, though lacking defensively, is a solid option for most managers.

Elsewhere, a case could be made for Raphael Varane and maybe Luke Shaw to stay but, apart from that, there is little reason why any other player should be safe.

Even David de Gea, though a decent shot-stopper, lacks the footwork and passing ability required by goalkeepers at the very top level.
