The Black Stars rallied from two goals down before managing to hold the Warriors in Group B on Monday.
Two goals from Rahim Ayew, the eldest son of legend Abedi Pele, ensured that the Black Stars gained a point from the game.
Despite avoiding defeat, the Serbian is forlorn about the performance of the squad, saying they failed to live up to expectations.
“I am disappointed with the way we defended in the first half by allowing our opponents to take the ball to us,” Rajevac told KickOffGhana.com.
“This allowed Zimbabwe to gain the confidence that they can take the game to us, and they did.”
The Black Stars must beat Libya on Thursday to enhance their chances of reaching the semi-finals of the tournament.
The Serbian is confident that his players have learned their lessons and will improve their play to defeat the Greens.
“The players are aware that when they strictly listened to instructions we improved, and I expect them to maintain the same composure as they did when we were down,” he said.
“We have a good chance of beating the Libyans, but we must work hard to achieve that.”
DR Congo beat Libya 2-0 in the group’s other game.
