Abeyie, who last appeared for Ghana in September 2009, looked to be out of reckoning with the Black Stars, but was thrown a lifeline with an invitation for the game in Sarajevo on Wednesday before the injury rocked his chances.

It is one of many setbacks threatening Ghana’s preparations for the friendly that is supposed kick-start preparations for the World Cup.

Isaav Vorsah, who was awesome in defence for Ghana at the Nations Cup, has joined Abeyie on the touchline with a six-week injury.

The Ghana Football Association has yet to release an official list of players for the match as they struggle to finalise it.

KickOffGhana.com understands a number of clubs will invoke the 14-day notice period required before the release of players for friendlies and refuse to let their players travel after the game was confirmed barely a week ago.
