The Ghana defender was sorting the final paperwork regarding his switch to France and tells KickOffGhana.com he was could not wait to join his new teammates.
“I should join the team for pre-season next week, which would give me the opportunity to meet my new teammates and get to know them before the start of the season,” he says.
Quartey joins the French Ligue 1 outfit from South African side Kaizer Chiefs and says he leaves with good memories.
“The shibobos, the flicks and the passion they had for football was great. But the truth is I am also moving to a league of a better standard and that is only good for me as a player.”
Quartey’s first priority at Nice is to become a first-team regular and hope it will be enough to retain him his place in the Black Stars, for whom he has been a regular squad member in the last year.
