This commanding win propels Birmingham into the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference playoff, following a dynamic performance at Al Lang Stadium on Saturday.
The scoring spree commenced with Cameroonian forward Tabort Etaka Preston, who netted a crucial goal just before halftime in St. Petersburg.
Etaka Preston continued to shine by creating Birmingham’s second goal, setting up Nigerian talent Diba Nwegbo early in the second half.
Prosper Kassim sealed the deal with a fantastic goal in the 78th minute, capitalizing on an exquisite pass from Jamaican midfielder Neco Brett.
Birmingham’s next challenge will come against the victor of the Charleston Battery vs. Indy Eleven quarter-final clash, scheduled for Sunday, October 22.
Kassim, a former Ghana U20 international, has enjoyed a stellar season in the USL Championship, contributing three goals and six assists in 34 appearances.
