Ghana’s Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq., has been appointed to the FIFA Legal Committee, marking yet another proud moment for African representation within world football’s highest decision-making circles.
The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will serve a four-year term from 2025 to 2029, contributing his expertise to one of FIFA’s most influential legal bodies.
The FIFA Legal Committee provides strategic legal guidance to the FIFA Council, overseeing governance structures, regulatory frameworks, and statutory matters that shape the global game
It is chaired by Seychelles’ Elvis Chetty, with Michael Llamas of Gibraltar as Deputy Chairperson.
Before assuming his current role as GFA General Secretary in 2020, Addo built a distinguished career in corporate compliance and commercial law. At MTN Ghana, he served as Senior Manager, Compliance, and earlier as Manager, Commercial Legal.
A seasoned lawyer with over two decades of experience, he is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and holds a BA in Law and Economics from the University of Ghana, as well as an MBA from the University of Salford Business School in the UK.
He is also a member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and an associate member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana.
