Asante Kotoko assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu is bracing for a difficult encounter against city rivals King Faisal in the MTN FA Cup Round of 32.
The Porcupine Warriors face King Faisal on Wednesday, January 7, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with a place in the next round of the competition at stake.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Owusu stressed that derby matches are decided by desire rather than form, warning his side against complacency.
“City rivals ; it doesn’t matter the form the other one has. It’s about who wants it the most,” he told AKSC Media.
Despite acknowledging the challenge, the Kotoko assistant coach remains confident in his players’ ability to rise to the occasion.
“So we have to urge them on that this is a game we have to win, and then we push them to do that. It’s not going to be easy, but I know these boys will see us through,” he added.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
