Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) officials have held discussions with the Sports Ministry on preparations for the 2023 President’s Cup.
The meeting involved head of the Sports Ministry, Mustapha Ussif, GHALCA chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo and other key government stakeholders.
It is understood that discussions centred around fine-tuning preparations for a smooth cup match which doubles as a league fixture between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The special guest of honor for the 66th Independence Anniversary celebration is President Nana Akufo Addo.
Penalty shootout will decide the winner, should the tie end in a draw.
This year’s winner will take home GHC50,000 and the runner up will pocket GHC30,000.
Hearts of Oak defeated rivals Kotoko 2–1 to win the last edition of the trophy in 2022.
