President Amaju Pinnick in Accra to observe GFA Elective Congress

Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation and FIFA Executive Council Member Amaju Melvin Pinnick has arrived in Accra as part of a strong FIFA delegation for the forthcoming Elective Congress of the Ghana Football Association in Tamale.

Pinnick who arrived in Accra Monday afternoon has held meetings with Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif (Hon.) and Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture Kwaku Agyenim-Boateng (Hon).

The former Vice President of the Confederation of African Football will join Director of Member Associations for Africa at FIFA, Gelson Fernandes, Silmara Sousa, Development Program Coordinator, FIFA Member Associations Africa and Ahmed Harraz, Senior MA Governance Services Manager, FIFA MA Governance.

The team, which has already been assisting the GFA Elections Committee, will have final engagements while in Ghana before the Congress.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and WAFU B have also indicated that they will be sending dignitaries to ensure a successful GFA Congress on October 5, 2023.

Amaju Melvin Pinnick was President of the Nigeria Football Federation from 2014 to 2022 and was also First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) from September 2018 to July 2019, and a member of the Organising Committee for FIFA competitions. He currently serves on the FIFA Executive Council after succeeding Kwasi Nyantakyi in 2018.
