Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has highlighted the challenge of facing Lionel Messi, emphasizing that it was not just about defending against one player, but the entire Barcelona team.
“Playing against Messi is very difficult,” Partey said to Kafui Dey. “You are not only playing against Messi. You are playing against Iniesta, Busquets, Xavi, and the others.”
He noted that Barcelona’s strength, during his time in Spain, was in their collective playmaking, making it hard to contain them.
“You stay with Messi, and someone else scores,” Partey added, underscoring the unpredictability of their attack.
Partey also shared his thoughts on facing Cristiano Ronaldo, describing him as a “machine” focused on scoring goals.
He emphasized that Ronaldo’s clinical finishing is a significant threat, particularly when playing against Real Madrid.
