Saint-Étienne officially announced the signing of defender Dennis Appiah from Ligue 1 side Nantes until 2025 on Tuesday 3rd January 2023.
Appiah has started training with his new club ahead of their crucial games in the French Ligue 2.
Appiah first trained at AS Monaco, the native of Toulouse is the captain of the Monegasque generation that won the 2011 Gambardella Cup against the Greens of Idriss Saadi, beaten on penalties.
Promoted to the Principality’s first team, he played 27 games with his training club, most of them in Ligue 2 BKT. He then played for Caen in the summer of 2013, Belgian club Anderlecht in 2016, and FC Nantes in 2019.
He will be eligible for the next ASSE encounter on January 10 against Laval.
On 19 May 2010, Appiah signed his first professional contract agreeing to a three-year deal. He made his professional debut on 1 August 2011 in a league match against Boulogne. Appiah played the entire match, which ended 0–0.
The 30-year-old plays as a defensive midfielder and is also capable of playing in defense as a central defender.
He was a France youth international having earned caps at under-16, under-17, and under-18 level.
