Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil has reacted to scoring a goal and providing an assist for LA Galaxy in their 3-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes in the Major League Soccer.

The Saturday night goal and assist were his firsts for the Los Angeles-based side since joining from Genk in February.

After the game, the 26-year-old took to social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his excitement about the win.

“Perfect CALI CLÁSICO evening .A goal, an assist & 3 points. God did 🙏💪.”

He netted the game’s opening goal with clinical strike from inside the box in the 18th minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from Mark Delgado to give LA Galaxy the early advantage.

Not content with just scoring, Paintsil continued to shine throughout the match, providing an assist just before halftime. He skillfully set up Dejan Joveljic, who calmly slotted home from inside the area, doubling LA Galaxy’s lead to 2-0 and leaving San Jose Earthquakes in disarray.

Following the halftime interval, Paintsil remained a key figure in LA Galaxy’s attacking endeavors, playing a crucial role in the team’s third goal, which Riqui Puig scored.

Paintsil’s stellar performance earned him a standing ovation from the fans as he was substituted after 63 minutes, making way for Gabriel Pec to enter the fray.
