Pep Guardiola has praised Antoine Semenyo’s start to life at Manchester City, saying “Semenyo’s impact has been really, really good”.
The Ghanaian winger has made a significant contribution since joining City from Bournemouth in January, scoring five goals and bringing energy to the team.
Guardiola rested Semenyo against Salford City in the FA Cup, citing strategic reasons, albeit coming on in the second half but the forward is expected to reclaim his place in the starting lineup against Newcastle over the weekend.
Semenyo’s skills, pace, and composure have impressed Guardiola, who believes he’s a valuable addition to the team.
Semenyo’s arrival has also allowed City to explore different tactical options, and Guardiola is optimistic about his future at the club.
With Semenyo’s release clause met at £65 million, City is looking to bolster their title charge with Arsenal’s inconsistencies.
